Sometimes we get so used to pouring into everyone else that we forget to pour back into ourselves. When you have a big heart, it feels natural—but I'm learning that constantly putting yourself last comes at a cost. And if you're reading this, I have a feeling you know exactly what I mean.
For years, I operated on the belief that self-care was a luxury—something you did when you had time, when everything else was handled, when you'd "earned" it somehow. But that mentality kept me running on empty. I'd wake up exhausted before my day even started. My skin would break out from stress I wasn't managing. My mood would shift with the slightest inconvenience because I had nothing left to give myself. I was showing up for everyone except the one person who needed me most: me.
The turning point came when I realized that self-care isn't selfish—it's foundational. It's the difference between surviving and thriving. When you take care of yourself, you're not just improving your own life; you're showing up better for everyone around you. You have more patience, more presence, more genuine energy to share. You're not running on fumes and resentment. You're actually living.
As I get closer to 30, I'm realizing that protecting my energy and prioritizing my well-being isn't optional… it's necessary. Skipping out on self-care might feel small in the moment, but over time, it shows up in ways we can't ignore—mentally, physically, and emotionally. It shows up in your skin, in your sleep, in how you respond to stress, in the relationships you nurture. It compounds, just like everything else.
This is why I created Annubia Beauty the way I did. Every product is designed with this philosophy in mind: that taking care of your skin is an act of self-love, not a chore. That your skincare ritual can be a moment of intentionality in an otherwise chaotic day. That you deserve products made with integrity—vegan, plant-based, toxin-free—because you deserve to know exactly what you're putting on your body.
So this is your reminder (and mine too): take care of yourself. Celebrate yourself. Even when no one else acknowledges your growth, your effort, or your worth—you do. You see it. You feel it. And that matters.
Romanticize your life again. Slow down during your self-care rituals. Be intentional. Be present. Embrace your beauty in every form—the good skin days and the breakout days, the confident days and the vulnerable ones. All of it is part of your story. These are the affirmations I'm telling myself daily, and I felt called to share them with my Annubians because I know you're carrying something too. You're trying. You're showing up. And you deserve to show up for yourself with the same grace you show everyone else.
Your healing glow starts when you decide that you're worth the investment.
Sincerely,
Asada — your Holistic Skincare Fairy
